One-to-One online VCE English Language tutoring, taught by an experienced VCE teacher.

About

A bit about me.

I'm a VCE English Language teacher with years of experience, both in the classroom and tutoring one-to-one. Alongside teaching, I've worked extensively in Student Wellbeing — and that background shapes how I tutor. Sessions are goals-focused and tailored to your specific needs, pairing academic rigor with real attention to how a student is actually going. It's an approach that supports the whole student — confidence, wellbeing, and results, together.

Current Working with Children Check (VIT) Classroom-taught, exam-tested Student Wellbeing background
Clear, practical language

I explain metalanguage the way I'd explain it to a sharp student — clearly, in language that actually sticks.

Detailed, specific feedback

Feedback is thorough and specific, pointed straight at your next draft or your next SAC.

Exam-literate

Every session ties back to how VCAA actually marks it, using examiner language and real exam patterns.

Tailored to you

Goals-focused and tailored to your specific needs — because everyone's starting point, and version of success, is different.

FAQ

Questions I get asked a lot.

Here's what most parents ask me before we get started — if yours isn't here, just send it through.

How do sessions actually run?
Sessions are held over a Microsoft Teams meeting link, sent ahead of each session — you can join with or without an Office 365 account. Each session runs 60 minutes, though shorter or longer sessions can be arranged.
Do you only tutor VCE English Language?
Alongside VCE English Language, I also teach mainstream Year 7–10 and VCE English, and run targeted literacy interventions for Year 7–9.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
Sessions are online by default, but in-person sessions can be arranged on request across Northcote, Thornbury, Preston, Coburg, Brunswick, Pascoe Vale, Oak Park, Strathmore, Essendon, Moonee Ponds, and Ascot Vale.
How do I get session notes, marked work, or feedback?
Everything is shared through a Google Drive folder that you keep ongoing access to — for sending through work, and receiving notes and feedback back.
What's the cancellation policy?
24 hours' notice is appreciated to reschedule a session without charge.
How does payment work?
Invoices are issued after each session, or upfront for prepaid packages, and payable by PayID. Full payment details are sent with each invoice.
Do you have a Working with Children Check?
Yes — a current Working with Children Check, maintained as part of my VIT (Victorian Institute of Teaching) registration.
Will you contact my child directly?
I always speak with a parent or guardian first — a quick phone call to introduce myself and agree on how communication should work — before contacting your child directly.
Is my family's information kept private?
The only information collected and stored is what you provide directly, plus the notes taken during sessions. This is only as private as Google's and Microsoft's own platform security — and my own practice of keeping personal information solely on my own laptop hard drive (never OneDrive) and phone, not on any shared or company cloud storage.
What if my child is already doing well — or is really struggling?
Both, genuinely. Success looks different for every student — sometimes that's chasing a study score, sometimes it's building the confidence to write what they know. Sessions are built around the student in front of me, whatever that looks like for them this term.
How do packages and discounts work?
The 10-session package is prepaid upfront at a discounted per-session rate, and carries through the whole term — use the sessions flexibly, whenever suits.
How do we get started?
Get in touch below with a bit about your child's year level and what you're hoping to work on. I'll follow up with a phone call to introduce myself, and we can find a time for a first session from there.
